"From 'Snow White And The Seven Dwarfs' to 'Raya And The Last Dragon,' Walt Disney Animation Studios has spent the past eight decades perfecting its signature riff on the classic hero's journey," wrote Caroline Siede in her review of the film for AV Club.

"And the grand pooh-bah of the contemporary musical movie score, Lin-Manuel Miranda, provides a spellbinding soundtrack of songs combining salsa, bachata and hip-hop played with traditional folk instruments from Colombia," Phillips wrote. It is a spectrum that is representative of the diversity within the Latino community.
Phillips said that "Encanto" has a "robust engagement with, and respect for, Latino culture," noting that the Madrigal family members have skin tones that range from light to dark and have hair textures that vary from straight to kinky-curly. "The computer animation, some of the best from any major studio in the last several years, presents a dazzling confabulation of hues and a meticulous weaving of precious details - like the embroidery on skirts, the golden-brown crust of a cheese arepa and the selection of native Colombian flora," said Maya Phillips, a writer for The New York Times. Or hop a water taxi for a relaxing ride to Epcot or Hollywood Studios.Disney's two animation studios have long been praised for their revolutionary techniques in creating delicate details, from stitching on clothing to realistic hair. The Boardwalk is right there to visit for evening entertainment. The Boardwalk Villas Resort is in a fantastic location. If you are interested in seeing what a DVC studio and one-bedroom look like, they have a full-size model you can walk through down the left side of the Boardwalk (as you look toward the lake). The DVC motto is "Welcome Home" and this is just how I felt when I was there. 45 minutes later we were hugging as we said goodbye. I stopped by the DVC kiosk and spoke to a wonderful Chinese woman from the UK (I'm so sorry I can't remember your name-all I can come up with is Hanalore)! We had a great conversation about family, travels, Disney, etc. I visited the Boardwalk Villas while exploring the Disney Vacation Club (DVC) resorts on my trip. Overall, highly recommend this resort for a WDW vacation! My teenagers also loved the villa and location, and found the pool fun (although the clown is a bit freaky). Having the Boardwalk there with its restaurants was also a great plus. The buses normally ran smoothly, but once we waited 50 minutes instead of the usual 10 - 15. It was about a 15 minute bus ride to Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom and 10 minutes to Blizzard Beach.
Plus they had regular boat service if you wanted to stay off your feet. The Villas are very centrally located within DisneyWorld - a 10 minute walk to Epcot and 15 minute to Hollywood Studios. We used the full sized fridge the most, but also really appreciated the dishwasher and washer/dryer. The beds were comfy it was great having a full kitchen there. We had a great room location (close to the main pool and Boardwalk, and on the same floor as the lobby so no stairs or elevator required) and the place was wonderful! The service - check in, check out, concierge, and housekeeping - was all exceptional. We stayed in a one bedroom villa for 6 nights in early May. Clearly, most of the employees we had the displeasure of meeting this past week have forgotten why they have jobs in the first place. Taking away yet another "benefit" of staying at a Disney resort. And to end this "vacation" in the new Disney standard, the two individuals at the resort check-in managed to foul up our 9 year old daughters boarding pass, forcing us to check in at the airport. We decided to go down to the pool bar, to celebrate our "Construction View 2 Bedroom Villa" and we were "greeted" by Surly (real name Joe) who has definitely masted the art of being unpleasant as possible in a service profession. When I contacted DV for help, I was brushed off.
Attempts to rectify this problem were met with indifference. Nothing better than looking out of the window of your bedroom and see a painter's rear end(see pictures) or trying to get out in the balcony over stacked chairs. Our stay began by being put into a room that no one would choose. We are DVC members, which I highly recommend against.once they have your money, DVC treats you like an inconvenience. We have stayed at Disney 10 times over the last 10 years.
